As the holiday season approaches, we can't help but feel the magic in the air here at the Westbrook Inn. It's a special time of year, and we're excited to share the joy and festivities that make Westbrook a charming and enchanting place to be during the holidays.The Connecticut Shoreline transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. From glistening coastal lights to beautifully decorated seaside homes, our communities come alive with the spirit of the season.

The temperatures are dropping so to stay warm we like to keep busy! Get ready for a calendar full of holiday events, from Westbrook's tree lighting ceremony to festive concerts at The Kate. Or maybe you'll enjoy a brisk beachside walk, then cozying up by our fireplace with a warm cup of cocoa.

We invite you to experience the wonder of the Connecticut shoreline during this special time of year. Whether you're a resident or planning a visit, the shoreline's holiday spirit is sure to warm your heart and create cherished memories.

New Paragraph

1. Combine eggs, milk and vanilla. Set aside

2. Peel and slice apples approx. 1/4" thick

3. Melt the butter in a frying pan and add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and water. Cook on medium heat for about 8 minutes or until apples are slightly softened. In a separate brown, combine cornstarch and 1 tbsp water to create a slurry.

4. Push the apples over to one side of the pan, turn the heat up to medium high and pour some of the corn starch mixture into the boiling liquid until it thickens. Depending on how much liquid was in your apples, you may not need all of the slurry.

5. Spread apple mixture into a 9x13 pan. Top with 1/2 of the croissant squares and spoon 1/2 of the egg mixture over the bread. Top with a second layer of croissant squares and remaining egg mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

IN THE MORNING

1. Remove the pan from the refridgerator while preheating the oven to 350ºF

2. Bake covered for 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the bread is firm. Remove from the over and let cool for 10 minutes. Invert into a pan, cut and serve!

Optional toppings: We like to serve ours with reduced apples cooked with brown sugar, caramel drizzle, a dollop of cream cheese, and pralines!
