Cold Beer + Firepit Evenings = Westbrook Magic
It seems like just when the summer gets started, we begin to start thinking about it coming to an end. Like Christmas decorations in stores before Thanksgiving, once August arrives, so too comes the back-to-school sales, and college kids thinking about dorm fridges. In our "rush" to always get on to the next big thing, we can lose the promise of what those precious August weeks offer. August brings steamy days that deserve to be cooled off by an afternoon at the beach or a cold beer in the evening. The shoreline has a number of excellent beaches to spend a summer afternoon enjoying. West Beach is within walking distance from the Inn, and we really enjoy an afternoon walk by all the cottages that line Seaside Ave.
Cold Beer. Well, is there anything better on a hot day? I spent many years with Beer as my job, so I like to think of myself as a bit of an expert. Marcus has dabbled in beer making and loves to find good porters or stouts. We are so lucky we have great choices for local beers close to home. We are featuring Coastline Brewing this month, but check out our blog for a few other options. Lounging by the firepit listening to live music is how we will spend our August evenings. Remember to slow the summer down and savor the season, which will be over all too soon.
